### Legal framework

**Does a vehicle rental contract have to be notarized?**

No. Under TBK arts. 299 et seq., notarization is not a validity requirement for vehicle rental. The Akitle signature is binding between the parties. Notarization increases evidentiary weight in disputes; if there is an eviction undertaking or similar special condition, a notary is recommended.

**Who pays the comprehensive insurance (kasko) premium?**

**Can the renter let someone else drive the rented vehicle?**
