# What is a digital contract?

A digital contract is an agreement the parties prepare, share, and sign electronically — with identity details and consent captured online — instead of printing and signing on paper. Under Turkish law, the parties' mutual consent forms the contract (TBK art. 1); written form is not a validity requirement for most contract types. It does not substitute for a wet-ink or qualified e-signature in official procedures that require one (e.g. certain notarial acts).

**Can a digital contract be used as evidence in court?**

Yes.
