Construction equipment rental contract
A construction equipment rental contract clearly allocates transport, assembly, insurance, and site-safety responsibility between the parties for items such as scaffolding, work platforms, generators, compressors, water pumps, and hand tools. High-volume rentals, short delivery-return cycles, and tracking of numerous small items demand an inventory-like discipline. Akitle offers a fast, audit-trailed contract flow that keeps the equipment list line by line; share via link, the renter signs on-site — no paper, photocopy, or fax.

What this contract covers
- Equipment list: name, quantity, unit price, duration (line by line)
- Transport responsibility: delivery to and collection from the site
- Assembly / setup and dismantling responsibility (scaffolding, platforms)
- Insurance coverage; responsibility on theft / loss
- Site-safety obligations and conformity documents
- Delivery and return record (with photos)
- Replacement value and compensation for missing / damaged items
- Late fee (per-day additional charge) and grand total
Why separate from the heavy-equipment template?
The heavy-equipment template (excavators, cranes, and large machinery) is typically for a single machine and a high-value rental, whereas construction-equipment rental manages many small items together: 50 scaffolding clamps + 10 formwork panels + 3 hand tools + 1 generator and similar mixed lists. Because transport, assembly, and site-safety responsibilities vary per item in these lists, a separate template is needed. The Akitle construction-equipment template eases multi-line management with per-line unit-price and total calculation.
Critical fields
The most frequent disputes in construction-equipment rental concern which party bears transport and assembly responsibility, missing or damaged parts on return, site-safety obligations, and insurance responsibility for theft. The Akitle template includes these fields by default:
- Equipment list: per line — name, quantity, unit price, duration
- Transport responsibility: who delivers to the site and collects
- Assembly / setup and dismantling responsibility (scaffolding, platforms)
- Insurance coverage and responsibility on theft / loss
- Site-safety obligations and conformity documents
- Delivery and return record (with photos); compensation for missing / damaged items
- Late fee (per-day additional charge) and grand total (auto-calculated)
Inventory tracking — what Akitle can do
Akitle's scope is limited to the contract flow; it is not a full inventory management system. However, each line of the equipment-rental contract can represent a single piece of equipment; together with the return record, the contract captures which equipment is in which contract. For more comprehensive inventory tracking, use the customer-record system (Akitle Customers) alongside.

Frequently asked questions
In scaffolding rental, are clamps and panels a single line?
The Akitle template supports both combined (bulk count) and line-by-line (each part type as a separate line) models. The choice is yours; line-by-line is recommended for accounting and damage tracking.
How is compensation calculated for missing returns?
The contract defines a replacement / renewal value per equipment. The Akitle template includes this field and applies the compensation formula in case of missing return.
Is it suitable for short-term (hourly / daily) rentals?
Yes. The rental unit can be selected as hour / day / week / month in the Akitle template. For hourly rentals, the unit price is entered per hour; the total calculates automatically.
Who is responsible for transport and assembly?
Explicitly defined in the contract. The Akitle template has separate fields that assign responsibility for delivering the equipment to the site, setting it up (scaffolding/platform assembly), and dismantling it for return to either the lessor or the renter; site-safety obligations and required conformity documents are recorded here too.
How is a signature collected on a tablet on-site?
The renter opens the Akitle link from a tablet or phone on-site, enters their information, and draws their signature on the screen with a finger. When the link is closed, the signed PDF is emailed to both parties.
Is the Akitle signature a qualified e-signature (Law 5070)?
No. Akitle produces a binding document and an audit trail between the parties; the document constitutes evidence under HMK art. 199. It is not, however, a qualified electronic signature under Law No. 5070. Where wet-ink equivalence is required, a notary or qualified e-signature is recommended.
