Vehicle rental contract
In vehicle rental, the contract is critical for recording the delivery mileage, fuel level, existing damages, and insurance coverage. The document clarifies which party is responsible from which point in any future dispute. Akitle makes a ready vehicle-rental template fillable; share via link, the renter signs — no paper, photocopy, or fax.

What a vehicle rental contract covers
A well-prepared vehicle rental contract clearly regulates vehicle information, rental duration, price, insurance responsibility, damage record, mileage limit, and fuel level. For both individual and corporate rentals, the Akitle template includes all these fields by default.
- Vehicle plate, brand, model, chassis number, color
- Delivery and return mileage (km overage fee)
- Fuel level (delivery / return) and difference fee
- Insurance, comprehensive coverage (kasko), traffic-fine responsibility
- Photo attachment for damage record
- Driver information (if different from renter) and license check
Fleet rental or individual rental?
Fleet (corporate) rentals typically use a monthly or annual unit price, a multi-vehicle list, and a different maintenance arrangement. Individual rentals commonly use daily or weekly pricing. The Akitle template is configurable for both scenarios; line totals update automatically as unit price and duration change.
Legal framework
As an ordinary rental contract under Turkish Code of Obligations (TBK) arts. 299 et seq., a vehicle rental contract is not subject to a written-form requirement; nevertheless, a written document is essential for proof and dispute avoidance. A contract produced via Akitle constitutes a 'document' under HMK art. 199 and 'beginning of written evidence' under HMK art. 202.

Frequently asked questions
Does a vehicle rental contract have to be notarized?
No. Under TBK arts. 299 et seq., notarization is not a validity requirement for vehicle rental. The Akitle signature is binding between the parties. Notarization increases evidentiary weight in disputes; if there is an eviction undertaking or similar special condition, a notary is recommended.
Who pays the comprehensive insurance (kasko) premium?
Explicitly regulated in the contract. The Akitle template handles the comprehensive-insurance deductible amount and the responsibility allocation in a traffic accident through a dedicated section with fields.
Can the renter let someone else drive the rented vehicle?
Most contracts prohibit this; the Akitle template includes a separate field for defining additional drivers. Unless otherwise stated, the rented vehicle is used only by the renter or additional drivers named in the contract.
How is a late return calculated?
The template defines an additional fee rate per day of delay. Akitle automatically calculates rental duration × unit price — late-return fees flow into the line total with the same logic.
Is the Akitle signature a qualified e-signature (Law 5070)?
No. Akitle produces a binding document and an audit trail between the parties; the document constitutes evidence under HMK art. 199. It is not, however, a qualified electronic signature under Law No. 5070. Where wet-ink equivalence is required, a notary or qualified e-signature is recommended.
